Hours: The Assessor’s Agent is in the office on Wednesdays between 9:00 - 1:00.
The Assessor’s Agent is responsible for maintaining property tax records and ensuring that the tax burden is equitably distributed based on value.

The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for the administering and enforcement of all Town ordinances, as well as adopted codes relating to building construction within the Town of Denmark.
It is recommended that you contact the Code Enforcement Officer prior to the start of new construction to inquire as to which permits will be applicable to your operation. Permits can be obtained from the Code Enforcement Officer.

In order for first responders to be able to find your location in an emergency, each structure must be linked to a unique, physical address that clearly identifies where an emergency caller is located. Municipal authority to address is granted under Municipal Home Rule Powers as provided in Article VIII, Part 2, Section 1 of Maine State Constitution and Title 30-A MRSA Section 3001.
Please complete this Address Request Form if any of the following occurs:
- If you have purchased or will be developing a lot to include a dwelling and have obtained a building permit from the Code Enforcement Officer. You will need an address assigned for electric and phone service.
- If you will be adding an additional dwelling to a property that has an existing dwelling.
- If you have any questions about your property’s address.

Public Works
The mission of the Denmark Public Works Department is to improve the quality of life for citizens by maintaining Denmark’s infrastructure, while protecting it natural resources. Denmark Public Works provides for year round maintenance of town roads and facilities. The Department also facilitates Denmark’s Transfer Station located on Hancock Pond Road. Our employees are committed to meeting the needs of the Town of Denmark while preparing for its future.

The Town Manager is the chief administrator for the Town and as such is responsible for all departments and employees. The manager is appointed by the Select Board for three year terms and is tasked with carrying out the programs and policies established by the Select Board. The manager organizes and directs the management of the executive affairs of the Town in a manner consistent with the Town Charter, policies, and ordinances. In addition to these and many other responsibilities, the manager routinely reports to the Select Board as to the status of town affairs, programs, and plans for the purposes of effective government in the Town of Denmark.
